Big 5 names basketball Players of the Week
The Philadelphia Big 5 has named Darrin Govens of Saint Joseph’s and Temple’s Kristen McCarthy as its basketball Players of the Week. Govens averaged 18 points, three rebounds, and four assists per game in a 2-0 week for the Hawks. McCarthy averaged 17.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and five assists per game on the week.

Saint Joseph's downs La Salle in Big 5 finale
Saint Joseph's concluded the 2009-10 Big 5 schedule and clinched a berth in the Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Tournament by defeating city rival La Salle, 79-54, at Hagan Arena. The Hawks head to the postseason on a two-game winning streak.
