CAMPBELL WINS 2009 PHILADELPHIA BIG 5 GOLF INVITATIONAL

The Campbell University Men’s Golf program won the 2009 Philadelphia Big 5 Golf Invitational played at the Philadelphia Cricket Club on October 10th & 11th.  The Camels shot a two-round total of 587 (297-290), finishing ahead of 2nd Place Richmond (293-298-591) and 3rd Place Yale (297-297-594). 
Campbell's Zak Drescher combined his first-round 67 with a second-round 73 to shoot 140 and defeated Mark Ballo of St. John's by three strokes to win the Individual Championship.

The University of Pennsylvania, led by freshman Colin St. Maxens who fired a school record 65 on Sunday, won its fourth Big 5 Title in the past eight years.  The Quakers finished in a tie for 4th place.

Temple University served as host for the 2009 Philadelphia Big 5 Golf Invitational.  Head Coach Brian Quinn and Assistant Bob Woll served as Tournament Directors.  A total of seventeen Division I Men’s Golf Teams (89 golfers) participated in the 36-hole event held at the Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course.
