Men's Player of the Week
The Philadelphia Big 5 honored Jack Eggleston (Jr., F) of Penn with the Big 5 Men’s Player of the Week award. Eggleston led the Quakers with a career-high 24 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the field and making a career-best four three-pointers on five attempts as they upset No. 22 Cornell 79-64 on Friday. He followed that with 11 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals in their 66-62 loss to Columbia Saturday night.
Honor Roll
• Rodney Green (Sr., G) of La Salle racked up 27 points and nine rebounds while shooting 11-for- 22 from the field in the Explorers’ 103-82 loss at Duquesne.
• Michael Eric (Fr., F/C) of Temple scored 19 points and grabbed four rebounds, four assists, and two blocks while shooting 9-of-10 from the field in the Owls’ 78-56 win against Rhode Island on Saturday.
• Scottie Reynolds (Sr., G) of Villanova secured 21 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals as the Wildcats defeated West Virginia 82-75 on Monday. He added 22 points and three boards in Saturday’s 92-81 win over Providence.
Women’s Player of the Week
Temple’s Kristen McCarthy (So., F) was awarded Player of the Week on the women’s side. McCarthy scored 42 points as the Owls defeated Charlotte 79-68, breaking a 27-year old Temple women’s basketball record for the most points scored in a single game. Her 42 points ties for second- most in a single game in the history of the A-10 and the most in the conference since 1998. In this performance, she also secured a double-double by grabbing 11 rebounds. She also tallied 13 points, nine rebounds, and five assists in Temple’s 66-54 win over UMass earlier in the week.
Honor Roll
• Jamie Walsh (Sr., G) of La Salle averaged 14.5 points, 3.5 assists, and 2 steals per game as the Explorers went 1-1 on the week. She scored a team-high 19 points with a season-high tying five three-pointers in the 70-62 victory against Fordham on Saturday.
• Maria Getty (Sr., G) of Villanova scored a career-high 28 points while making 6-of-10 from beyond the arc, tying a career-high in the Wildcats’ 83-69 win over Syracuse. She followed that with 15 points, two boards, two assists, and a steal as in the 49-36 loss to Rutgers on Saturday.
• Ashley Logue (Sr., C) of Saint Joseph’s averaged 14 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2 blocks, and 1.5 assists per game on the week. She matched her career-high, scoring 20 points as the Hawks defeated Saint Louis 71-67 on Saturday. Against #6 Xavier on Wednesday, she added a team-high 10 rebounds.
• Caitlin Slover (Sr., F) of Penn averaged 12.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game on the week. She racked up a career-high 22 points, along with six boards, two assists, and two steals while shooting 60 percent from the field against Columbia on Saturday
