Men's Player of the Week
The Philadelphia Big 5 honored Ramone Moore (So., G) of Temple with the Big 5 Men’s Player of the Week award. Moore averaged 21 points, seven rebounds, and three assists as the Owls went 2-0 on the week. He scored a career-high 18 points in the win over St. Bonaventure and then surpassed that with a new career-high 24 points against Saint Joseph’s in Big 5 action. Also against Saint Joseph’s, he scored the game-tying basket on a length-of-the-court drive with 1.5 seconds to play. Moore has scored in double figures in six straight games and is averaging 16.7 points per game over the last six.
Honor Roll
• Zack Rosen (So., G) of Penn scored a game-high 29 points and dished out a career-high 10 assists for his first collegiate double-double against Brown on Friday. He also tied a career- best with five steals. On Saturday, he led all scorers again with 27 points and added on five more assists as the Quakers defeated Yale 81-69. Earlier in the week against Princeton, he led Penn with 15 points and tallied four assists.
• Steve Weingarten (Jr., F) of La Salle averaged 12.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game on the week. He had a career-high 18 points and 17 boards against St. Bonaventure on Sunday. He also racked up seven points and 12 rebounds at Dayton on Thursday.
• Darrin Govens (Sr., G) of Saint Joseph’s scored 21 points, six rebounds, and three assists against Temple on Saturday. He shot 7-of-17 from the field, 4-of-10 from beyond the arc, and 3-of-4 from the foul line.
Women’s Player of the Week
Saint Joseph’s Mariame Djouara (Sr., G) was awarded Player of the Week on the women’s side. Djouara averaged 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and shot 50 percent from the field as the Hawks went 2-0 on the week. She posted her first double-double of the year with 13 points and 10 boards against Richmond on Sunday.
Honor Roll
• Jamie Walsh (Sr., G) of La Salle averaged 16 points and three assists as the Explorers went 1-1 on the week. She hit a career-high tying six threes and scored 18 points against UMass on Wednesday and followed that up with 14 points in the 75-63 win over Rhode Island on Saturday. Walsh has scored in double figures in four straight games.
• Kristen McCarthy (So., F) of Temple tallied 18 points and led all players in scoring in both games as the Owls went 1-1 on the week. She added on six boards, three assists, two steals, and made 7-of-8 from the free throw line as Temple defeated Duquesne 52-41.
• Maria Getty (Sr., G) of Villanova scored her 1,000th career point against Pitt on Wednesday, becoming the 22nd player in program history to achieve this honor. She racked up 12 points, three assists, and a rebound for the game. On Saturday, she tallied 17 points, four rebounds, four steals, and three assists as the Wildcats defeated Cincinnati 60-57.
